Planned Outage SMS Alerts Terms and Conditions

The terms and conditions of Planned Outage SMS Alerts are: 

  • NB Power will notify you by SMS alerts of any planned outages affecting your service, including cancellations. The SMS alerts will be sent to the mobile phone number you have provided to NB Power.
  • To sign up for Planned Outage SMS alerts or to manage your subscription, go to Manage Contact Information and Alerts. If you need support with your NB Power online profile, please call us at 1 888 544-2333.
  • Message frequency varies based on the need for planned outages at your premise(s). Reply HELP for help, Reply STOP to opt-out. NB Power does not charge for SMS alerts, but message and data rates may apply.
  • If you are registered for Planned Outage SMS Alerts, you will no longer receive Planned Outage Alerts through an automated dialer phone call. Automated dialer phone calls will remain the default channel for alerts, so if you wish to receive these again simply opt-out of Planned Outage SMS Alerts on your online profile.
  • Compatible carriers include: BCE Inc. (incl. Bell Mobility, PC Mobile, Virgin Plus, Lucky Mobile); Eastlink; Execulink; Fibernetics; Freedom Mobile; Iristel (incl. ICE Wireless); Rogers (incl. Chatr, Fido); SaskTel; SSi Canada; Tbaytel; TELUS (incl. Koodo, Public Mobile); Vidéotron (incl. Fizz); Wightman Telecom.
  • Alerts sent via SMS may not be delivered if the mobile phone is not in range of a transmission site, or if sufficient network capacity is not available at a particular time. Even within a coverage area, factors beyond the control of the wireless carrier may interfere with message delivery, including the customer’s equipment, terrain, proximity to buildings, foliage, and weather. NB Power and the wireless carrier do not guarantee that alerts will be delivered and will not be liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • You have read the Key Conditions of Service which still apply and you understand and accept them.
