NB Power has deep roots, proudly serving New Brunswickers for more than 100 years. As the province’s power company, NB Power generates, transmits and distributes electricity to over 400,000 homes, businesses and institutions across the province. The organization remains focused on continuous improvement as it delivers clean, competitive and reliable energy solutions while supporting New Brunswick’s evolving energy future.

As the electricity sector undergoes significant transformation, NB Power is seeking a strategic and experienced leader to serve as Executive Director, Audit, Risk & Compliance.

Reporting to the President & CEO and functionally to the Audit & Finance Committee of the Board, the Executive Director provides independent leadership over NB Power’s assurance, enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance functions. Integrating Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk Management and Regulatory & Corporate Compliance, the Executive Director leads the development and execution of a risk-based internal audit plan, oversees the enterprise risk management framework and provides executive oversight of regulatory compliance activities, including NB Power’s Reliability Standards Compliance Program. Working closely and collaboratively with the Board and Executive Leadership Team, the role delivers trusted insight, independent challenge and strategic advice to support sound decision-making and effective governance.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with progressive experience in audit, risk management, compliance or related oversight functions. You bring the credibility and executive presence required to engage effectively with Boards, Audit Committees and senior leadership teams, along with strong analytical judgement and the ability to translate complex risk and control environments into clear strategic insight. You are an excellent communicator, influencer and partnership builder with an enablement versus enforcement mindset. You enjoy leading, coaching and building high performing teams united in a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

A university degree in accounting, finance, business administration, law or a related discipline is required, while a master’s degree or professional designation such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CRM or equivalent is preferred. Experience in a regulated or public sector environment is an asset, as is familiarity with leveraging data analytics and emerging technologies to strengthen assurance and compliance capabilities.
