COVID-19 Information: New Brunswickers can continue to benefit from our residential and business energy efficiency programs. The Community Outreach Program remains on hold to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Our employees and contractors follow pandemic operational plans aligned with Public Health to keep everyone safe.

Prior to an employee or contractor going inside your home or business, health screening will take place. Results of screening will determine if the appointment will proceed and the type of protective equipment to be used. We appreciate our customers’ patience and flexibility as we navigate the impacts of COVID-19 together.

Consultation and approvals

Through 2017 and beyond, NB Power will seek appropriate environmental approvals with the Province of New Brunswick and follow application and review processes for financial approvals to be defined by the Energy and Utilities Board (EUB).

The life achievement recommendation follows a fact-based decision process involving NB Power’s Board of Directors, balancing environmental, social and technical, and cost considerations. It also follows a comprehensive public engagement effort that gathered values-based input from approximately 10,000 New Brunswickers who participated online, in person and in writing.

NB Power will continue to engage closely with First Nations on the life achievement project to facilitate meaningful participation in potential economic opportunities, environmental stewardship of the Saint John River, including fish passage, and other means that recognize and help restore First Nations’ connection to the river.
